HVE Sample Labs

Up: HVE · Curriculum: HVE Teaching Plan

First Sample Set

These are small local prototypes using synthetic insurance data. They exercise HVE practices without requiring Azure, Fabric, or a live model endpoint. They do not demonstrate a deployed AI application or validate HVE integration.

SamplePrimary focusSuggested participantsProposed time

Sample - Evidence Review and HandoffAcceptance, uncertainty, accountable handoffAll personas, especially product/delivery20–30 min

Times are planning estimates. The first two include runnable starter code, acceptance checks, and instructor reference implementations under HVE Samples/. The third includes a static handoff packet and instructor key. Keep instructor material out of learner distributions.

Shared Exercise Pattern

  1. Read the brief and acceptance criteria. State the missing evidence or decision.
  2. Choose whether bounded research is necessary; cite existing evidence when sufficient.
  3. Write or generate a small plan, then obtain the exercise partner’s approval.
  4. Implement the bounded change, preserving input data and unrelated behavior.
  5. Run checks, inspect the diff, and compare the outcome against requirements.
  6. Record acceptance and the next owner for any remaining work.

This is our teaching scaffold. Microsoft’s RPI guide permits adequate evidence reuse and optional acceptance review; the assessed exercise intentionally requires a review record.

Prototype Boundaries

The sample checks are acceptance examples, not a complete production test suite. A reference solution demonstrates one valid approach, not the only acceptable implementation. No learner completion or HVE/Copilot execution has been observed yet.

Next: test these in the planned environment, measure actual time, add learner feedback, and revise Competency and Evaluation Goals.
