Sample - Evidence Review and Handoff

Up: HVE Sample Labs · Audience: Learner Personas · Evaluation: Competency and Evaluation Goals

Goal and Materials

Use HVE Samples/evidence-review/learner-packet.md to evaluate a completion claim, distinguish known defects from missing evidence, and hand off the next action. No coding environment is required for this version. Proposed time: 20–30 minutes, untested with learners.

Exercise

  1. Read the agreed requirements and the implementer’s completion claim.
  2. Identify which acceptance claims are supported by the supplied checks.
  3. Find one concrete counterexample to the amount-validation logic.
  4. Record the missing validation evidence without assuming the unseen implementation is correct or incorrect.
  5. Classify the client’s policy-limit request as a decision requiring clarification; do not invent a threshold.
  6. Write a handoff another person can resume without the prior conversation.

An assistant can help inspect or draft the review; each learner must explain the final disposition and evidence.

Required Handoff

  • Agreed scope and requirement identifiers.
  • Acceptance decision and its supporting evidence.
  • Demonstrated defect, counterexample, and next implementation action.
  • Missing evidence and the person responsible for obtaining it.
  • Open policy decision and the product/client owner who must resolve it.
  • Clear next step, without claiming unperformed validation.

Assessment

Look for evidence-based judgment, appropriate scope, and accountable ownership. Use Competency and Evaluation Goals. For an adaptive version, introduce a new valid requirement after the review and ask what plan/evidence must change.

Instructor key: HVE Samples/evidence-review/instructor-key.md; keep it out of learner materials. After discussion, pair reviewers with implementers from Sample - Claims Validation and repeat using actual check results.
